This is one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time. I've watched it over several times and catch something new each time. The Norton monologue is priceless. And, I think it's Spike Lee's best movie ever.

Gotta disagree on this one. A trite Spike Lee scold to drug dealers everywhere. This is where it gets ya and it ain't gonna be pretty. Norton's good, Hoffman tried and Dawson is pretty. The travelogue through the land of coulda been was contrived, the monolog on the cultural diversity of NY was contrived. Weak effort.

Excellent movie. I completely agree with you, Blake, and this isn't your alter ego speaking with you. I thought I was bad with all the blogs (and alter egos) that I have. ;) Speaking of which, just for gits and shiggles, you may want to check out one of my split personalities at Unfinished Rambler.

I think a friend gave me this movie about five or so years ago, and I'm glad he did. It was one of those movies about which I knew nothing, but The Wife and I both loved it, especially that scene you mentioned. Wonderful Spike Lee movie (one of his few that are truly wonderful).

Good review blake. I enjoyed this film immensely as well. The ending is very subjective, which I enjoy. It's definitely a fragment, which smacks of Romanticism thought. Well done Spike Lee, even if you are a douche bag in real life.
