A trite Spike Lee scold to drug dealers everywhere. This is where it gets ya and it ain't gonna be pretty. Norton's good, Hoffman tried and Dawson is pretty. The travelogue through the land of coulda been was contrived, the monolog on the cultural diversity of NY was contrived. Weak effort. Gotta disagree on this one. I think a friend gave me this movie about five or so years ago, and I'm glad he did. It was one of those movies about which I knew nothing, but The Wife and I both loved it, especially that scene you mentioned. Wonderful Spike Lee movie (one of his few that are truly wonderful).
