Another poll. About the best of 2010
The bulk of voters, 35%, chose the option, ‘They are an art form in and of themselves’. To be honest, I can’t remember where I put my vote, since I feel the majority of the options apply, but I hope I voted for this one.
20% of you chose ‘They serve to whet my appetite for a film’.
‘They are misleading and an disservice to the film itself’ and ‘Are freaking awesome, I could watch them all day’ each received 15% of the votes. An interesting split.
There was one vote for ‘They do more damage than good’.
And two voted for ‘Other.’
There were lots of great comments on the last poll as well. Vanessa of TheMovieNess found it hard to vote one way or the other since she believes it depends on the trailer, but she leans towards them as an art form. Fletch of Blog Cabins wanted to vote for several of the options saying,’They whet my appetite, they are an art form, they are annoying spoilers, they are awesome and terrible.” And Melanie of melhocking.com mentioned she was fine with trailers overall, unless they are overexposed in the media. And Colin of Pick ‘n’ Mix Flix is just glad they keep that guy with a deep voice in a job.
With 2010 rapidly coming to a close, I wanted to gauge how you all are feeling about the Best Picture race. Sure, not all of us have had the opportunity to see all the major contenders yet. But if you are a member of the Academy, and had to vote right now, who would you pick for the Best Picture Oscar?
