Monsters BluRay Giveaway!

As luck would have it, I was accidentally sent two review copies of the Monsters BluRay. I tried to send it back, but they don’t want it! So I thought I’d give it away to one of you. And although I’ve been thinking for several days about a creative, fun way to do this, I can’t.  So it’s come down to this.  Everyone gets one entry for following me on twitter.  I promise, my tweets are awesome.  You can follow me here: www.twitter.com/bitchinfilms.  Send me a tweet once you’ve followed for your entry!

I don’t want to leave those of you that all ready follow me out, so if you all ready follow me, just publish this tweet: @BitchinFilms is giving away a copy of Monsters on BluRay - http://bitchinfilmreviews.com/monsters-bluray-giveaway/.

Lastly, you can leave a comment on this post letting me know of your favorite films like Monsters.  Just comment with some suggestions, and you’ll be entered into the drawing.

In lieu of creativity, this got really complicated.  Again, here’s how you can be entered into the drawing drawing:

  • Following me on Twitter (at www.twitter.com/bitchinfilms).  Don’t forget to tweet me once you’ve followed for your entry.
  • Post the following tweet: @BitchinFilms is giving away a copy of Monsters on – BluRay - http://bitchinfilmreviews.com/monsters-bluray-giveaway/
  • Leave a comment on this post with your suggestions of movies similar to Monsters.

You can do all or any of this until midnight on March 19th.  That’s the end of the entry period.  Check out my review of the Monsters BluRay and all it’s features here.

    Hope I’m the lucky winner!

    Some favourite films like MONSTERS

    DISTRICT 9
    CLOVERFIELD
CITY OF GOD (No aliens, but hear me out. The desolated, dangerous enviorment totally linked the two films in my mind)

Hope I win, although I understand if living on the other side of the world takes me out of the running (international postage can be a bitch)

    I went with option 2.

And I haven’t seen Monsters, so I’m not sure I can adequately answer option 3. D9 seems the most obvious parallel.

I’m following you on Twitter and tweeted you. My Twitter handle is: @Haunted_Lair

I’m a HUGE FAN of the GIANT MONSTER genre and I would recommend such classics as the original version, Japanese Godzilla film (Gojira)1954 ! It’s the real deal! and also the american version (Godzilla) 1956. The original King Kong (1933) Get the new Blu-Ray of it! The film has never looked better! and has been remastered! It’s also a true classic! If you don’t already own these already, I cannot recommend these titles enough! These are the one’s that started the GIANT MONSTER genre in the first place!

Please accept my entry into the MONSTERS Blu-Ray Giveaway.
I would LOVE to be in with a chance at winning!!!

  5. Stephen Cross says:

Cloverfield and District 9 are the first ones to come to my mind. I’ll wait and see Battle: Los Angeles Friday. @aznwonda

  6. The Korean film, The Host, is one of the more interesting giant monster movies in recent history.

  7. Erica says:

I’d say maybe Signs, or The Thing. I would never actually recommend Signs to anyone, but it seems similar enough… The Thing, on the other hand, is one of my favorite movies. Both seem to have a similar tense atmosphere and sense of lurking danger.

@ Mad Hatter – Believe it or not, I have seen Blair Witch. Crazy, right? And I’ll be checking out It Happened very soon. I hope you win too!

@ Tom Clift – This contest is open worldwide! I love sending packages internationally. I’m not sure why. Nice connection with City of God. Of the three you mentioned, I haven’t seen Cloverfield. I’ll get on that. Thanks for entering!

@ Fletch – Got your tweet, consider yourself entered. For some odd reason, I didn’t connect the two in my head until you all started mentioning it. Now it’s totally obvious and feel like I got a Movie Buff Fail.

@ Ronald – I got your tweet’s, thank’s for entering, man! I haven’t seen ANY of the classic giant monster movies. I’ve marked down the one’s you’ve mentioned.

@ Stephen – I’ve got to finally see Cloverfield! Got your tweets and comments and you’re all set, thanks!

@ Mike – Nice one, man. I loved The Host, but haven’t seen it since it was in theatres. I must rewatch it. Thanks for entering!

@ Erica – I caught you on Twitter. Two great suggestions. But come on, I didn’t think Signs was that bad! But you’re right, The Thing is far superior. Thanks for entering!

  12. Blake says:

@ Castor – Thanks man, that seems to be a frequent suggestion. I’m going to have to give in and rent it. Good luck!

@ Stephanie – Oooh, Outbreak is a new suggestion, nice. I got your tweet and follow and comment. Consider yourself thrice entered. Thanks!

@ Katrina – I highbrow recommendation, well done. Stalker is one of the few Tarkovsky films I haven’t seen. I will get on it. I marked down all your entries, thanks a bunch!

I hadn’t heard of this before, but I’m certainly going to check it out now. Insanely small budget looks like the future for filmmaking.
