Really Jon Harris?  Do you really want to bastardize one of the best horror films to come out in the last few years?  Just because you were given an editor credit on The Descent (not named part one, making the sequel’s name The Descent Part 2 a little annoying) does not mean you get to do this.  Neil Marshall’s name is attached to this project only under producer, even though several of the original cast are participating.  The Descent Part 2 hits UK theaters in a little under two weeks.  I guess I’ll just keep my fingers crossed, but the plot sounds pretty craptacular.

Is this a take off of “Really?? with Seth and Amy”?

I didn’t care for The Descent as much as others. It was a good movie, but didn’t live up to the hype I’d heard prior to watching it. But I feel your pain in a pointless sequel. It’s exactly how I felt when I heard about 28 Weeks Later coming out. Completely unnecessary.

Nice catch Ivy! That’s my favorite SNL skit. I wish Amy would go back to Seth though.

And Rachel, I was just as bummed as you (it sounds like) at the creation of 28 Weeks Later. Let’s hope that series is put to rest.

I think 28 Weeks later was actually a decent film. If 28 Months is directed by Boyle like he has suggested, then hell yes….

Anyway, my fingers are crossed for this too. The fact that it’s still a British production and has some original cast gives me hope. Yet the success of the original was in it’s great FEMALE characters, and their strong bond… which we watched get ripped apart.

This sequel doesn’t seem to utilise that strength again at all.

Why? I loved the first film. Heck, my wife even loved it and she doesn’t do horror at all. This sequel looks so forced. I’ll still see it, but I can’t see how the story will possibly compare to the original.
