Library Loot

I’m wicked proud of myself.   I watched at least 12 movies in the last week.   Including all five of last week’s library loot.  Hell yeah. Band of Outsiders was fantastic.  I really enjoyed it.  So much so, I checked out more Goddard this week.  I’m trying to convince my sister and brother-in-law to dress up as the three main characters with me and learn the dance they do in the cafe.  My bro-in-law brought up the idea, but... Read More

Library Loot

I’ve been a bad movie watcher this week.  Not only did I only see two out of five checked out films from last weeks loot, but I saw G.I. Joe in theatres.  Yes, I’m hanging my head in shame. I accidentally put up the image for Fellini’s 8 1/2, but what I really rented was La Dolce Vita, and I’m quite pleased to report that I really, really liked it.  Despite it’s 2 hour and 53 minute run time, it was enthralling the... Read More

Library Loot

It’s been a while since I’ve done this little feature. I’ve found that if I don’t post about what stash I got from the library this week, then I’m less likely to actually watch them. Especially if they’re a little inaccessible. So I’m definitely going to need moral support to get through all five of this week’s films. I’ll be honest, there were some trips to the library that I didn’t report.... Read More

Library Loot

This blogging thing is getting away from me since school is kicking into high gear. Plus, everything in theatres sucks right now. A Tyler Perry movie? White Out? Sorority Row? Really? Good lord.  It’s a good thing that better films are just around the corner.  I can barely stand reading my blogging friends’ reports of TIFF.  Please, PLEASE tell me how awesome The Road is just as soon as possible.  Thanks! As for last time’s... Read More

Library Loot

It’s been quite a while since I’ve done Library Loot. I’ve been watching movies, but not telling you about them. I apologize. In preparation for Lars Von Trier’s Antichrist, I’ve decided to watch more of his film.  Before this, I had only seen Dancer in the Dark, and I watched that more interested in seeing Bjork act, than seeing Von Trier’s film.  But then it turns out and I loved the movie, so I’ll be... Read More

Library Loot

Bitchin’ Film Reviews has spiraled into a sad sate of negligence. This is due to a bunch of reasons, but they’re all relatively boring. Out of the last Library Loot, I only managed to watch Infamous which was really fantastic. In fact, it convinced me to read Capote’s In Cold Blood which is now right up there in my favorites among The Road and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. I’d definitely recommend it.  The book, and... Read More

Library Loot

If you remember from last week’s Library Loot, I had hit a wall when it came to watching movies. I thought TV on DVD would be the cure, and I’m a little embarrassed to say that I finished fifteen hour long episodes of My So-Called Life, fifteen hour long episodes of True Blood, and twelve episodes of Extras in 4 days. Mind you, much of this was done at work. You wouldn’t believe how fast a ten hour shift goes when watching True... Read More

Library Loot

I failed miserably at my last ambitious library loot attempt. Seriously. Out of seven films, I saw one. I suppose it makes sense, two of those rented I had already seen. And there was a three day holiday weekend that distracted me, plus a few other extra-curriculars. The only one I managed to watch was Jarmusch’s Stranger Than Paradise.  I really didn’t care for it.  I know it’s supposed to be hilarious, but I just didn’t... Read More

Library Loot

It’s that time again. The time where I go to library and feel completely overwhelmed by my choices. Fortunately, I had some really great suggestions as to what I should watch next. But as for last weeks loot, here are some quick thoughts: Welcome to the Dollhouse – This movie is sad as crap.  Really.  It’s just sad.  It only seems fitting that this guy would direct it. Blowup – This film was shot very well, and had some... Read More

Library Loot

I’m thrilled to report that I actually watched all four movies that I checked out the last time at the library.  This is quite a feat since I had a ton of family here last weekend and attended a wedding that included several days of activity.  Here are some quick thoughts about the last loot. Topsy Turvy – I enjoyed this film much more than I expected to.  I have yet to find a Mike Leigh movie that I didn’t enjoy, so this shouldn’t... Read More
