The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Red Band Trailer
A bootlegged copy of the red band trailer for David Fincher’s film The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has been floating around the internet for a day or two. I find myself surprisingly against this remake and, in what might be a self-fulfilling prophecy, disappointed in the trailer (the feel bad movie of Christmas… really?). I found the original Swedish films extremely satisfying (despite a somewhat meandering finale) and don’t really see the point of putting Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara in place of Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist. Rapace will always be Lizabeth Salander to me. And although I remain eager to be proved wrong, I can’t for the life of me picture Mara being as tough as this role requires–no matter how much they dress her up in makeup and tattered clothing.
I love David Fincher as much as any other angst-y male in their twenties. I recognize that he’s only let me down one or two times and that I should go into this film with an open mind. I just can’t help but wonder, what’s the point?
What do you think? Excited about Fincher’s latest?
