Tokyo!
I dragged myself to the local arthouse theater today to catch the Italian mafioso flick Gomorrah. And it was totally worth it–review to follow (it may receive four bitchin’ stars, I haven’t decided yet). But before the film started, I saw the most amazing trailer, for a film called Tokyo! Again, I’m bummed I hadn’t even heard of it before tonight, especially when the US release date was March 6th (cross your fingers so that it comes to Salt Lake). I can’t wait to see this. It doesn’t hurt that it has a 91% approval rating from top critics on rottentomatoes.com… I know Michel Gondry is made fun of all the time (most viciously at the Stuff White People Like blog), but he’s a genius and I love his stuff. Bong Joon-Ho and Leos Carax can’t exactly be called hacks either. Has anyone seen this? Is it as awesome as the trailer?

Hmm… I really didn’t think much of Gomorrah. Tokyo! looks great though.
I saw it, and liked 2 out of the 3 stories a lot. You should definitely see it if you get a chance. Tokyo Sonata is amazing also.
