Variety’s list of movies from 2008

Variety released the official list of 2008 releases.  I’ve been a bad blogger with finals, traveling for the holidays, sleeping a lot.  So instead of a review, I’ve just listed the 104 of these I saw.  That’s one every 3.5 days.  Not to mention the non-new releases I watched.  This explains why I don’t have a social life.  Three movies I listed in red because while I haven’t seen them, I will most definitely check them out before New Year’s.  Check out Variety’s full list here.  I encourage you to make a similar list, I’m curious at how unbalanced my own involvement with film is compared to other cinephiles.  Oh, and the best Sundance ticket buying time I got was January 8th at 3pm.  If anyone is feeling charitable, got a better time and wants to share, let me know.  Top ten list to follow soon.

  1. Anh Khoi Do says:

You’re lucky to attend to the Sundance Film Festival. Anyway, speaking about movies, I’ll sure be looking out for Blindness and Revolutionary Road if I check very quickly your list. Finally, merry Christmas and happy New Year.

  2. Ira says:

Вот почему у тебя иногда слишком мало времени на меня. Всё твои маленькие друзья.

  3. Jess says:

Great list. I’d be very happy if I’d seen your whole list. They’re sitting on my netflix saved queue instead.

  4. Tim says:

100+ films my friend is something else, particularly when movies are getting longer and looonger… Congrats on getting to see the best of them–and sorry about the time you wasted on the dogs. That’s the movie buff’s curse.

  5. Mitch says:

Blake, why aren’t you grabbing locals passes and tix?? Sign up next October. $250 gets you anything in SLC for the whole fest.

  6. Mitch says:

And what on earth compelled you to sit through Ben Stein’s intelligent design propaganda film?

  7. Mitch says:

And I can definitely hook you up. I can buy up to 20 tix on Saturday morning; I have a pass for myself, but I got an additional individual tix slot to grab some tix for the girlfriend and others. I don’t anticipate using most of my purchases, so if you are interested mfpark @ hotmail etc., etc.

  8. Awesome resource! I’m so impressed with the number you’ve seen… I think I hit about 90 or so but a bunch were from festivals in 2007. The lines get all blurry sometimes.
